Using your WPA cover at Bossa.

Bossa Health providers are recognised by WPA. Depending on your plan, that can cover psychiatry, therapy and medication support, the same joined-up care, with WPA picking up the cost. This page covers the practical part: how claims actually work.

How claiming works

1

Check your cover. Before starting treatment, check whether your WPA policy includes the mental health service you need. You can do this through the My WPA portal, the WPA Health app, or by contacting WPA directly.

2

Choose your Bossa Health clinician. Let us know which clinician you’d like to work with from the options we recommend. You’ll need to give WPA their name when you request authorisation.

3

Check whether you need a GP referral. Some WPA policies require one before treatment can be authorised, others don’t. WPA will confirm which applies to you.

4

Request pre-authorisation. Before booking your first appointment, contact WPA through the portal, the app or by phone. You’ll usually need your membership number, your GP referral if one is required, and your chosen clinician’s name. If approved, WPA will give you a pre-authorisation number.

5

Send us your authorisation details. Once treatment is authorised, send us your WPA membership number, your pre-authorisation number, and the first line of your address with your postcode. We’ll then arrange your appointments with your chosen clinician.

6

Attend your appointments. Your clinician will invoice WPA directly where appropriate. You remain responsible for any policy excess or co-payments that apply under your plan.

PRICING QUESTIONS

Good to know.

Will I have anything to pay myself?

Possibly. Your clinician invoices WPA directly where appropriate, but you remain responsible for any policy excess or co-payment under your plan, and for anything your policy doesn’t cover. We’ll help you identify what applies before anything is booked.

Can I book before my authorisation comes through?

It’s best not to. Pre-authorisation should be in place before your first appointment, otherwise WPA may decline the claim. You can still book a free triage call with us at any time, at no cost, while you wait.

Do I need a referral?

Not from us. Some WPA policies require a GP referral before treatment can be authorised and others don’t, so WPA will confirm which applies when you contact them.

What happens when my covered sessions end?

Nothing changes clinically: same team, same shared record. You simply continue on our standard pay-as-you-go pricing, with no subscription and no commitment.

Not sure what your plan covers?

Book a free triage call and we’ll help you work out what WPA covers, and what your next step is.
