+  PSYCHIATRY AT BOSSA

A proper assessment, not just a quick appointment.

If you’ve been waiting months for an NHS referral, or been assessed in a rush and left with more questions than answers, this is the part we do differently. A full psychiatric assessment with a GMC registered psychiatrist, within days, with your medication looked after properly afterwards.

What a proper assessment looks like

This is what the fourth homepage promise means in practice when you see one of our psychiatrists:

Time to be heard

A full consultation covering your history, what you’re experiencing now, and what you’ve already tried, not a checkbox exercise.

A clear outcome

A diagnosis where appropriate, explained in plain language, and a written plan you can actually use.

Joined-up next steps

Therapy, medication or both, arranged on your shared record within 24hrs, so nothing falls through the gap after diagnosis.

Then your medication is looked after, not left to chance.

This is the piece almost no one else joins up. After your assessment, a clinical pharmacist works alongside your psychiatrist on your shared record: starting medication carefully, titrating it, managing side effects, and reviewing it as you change. Reviews from £55, without needing another full psychiatric appointment each time.

Psychiatry questions

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You self-refer directly, and it takes less than 5 minutes to start.

Can you prescribe medication?

Yes, where clinically appropriate. Prescribing sits with your psychiatrist, and day-to-day medication care with your clinical pharmacist, on the same record.

Will my GP be kept informed?

If a letter needs to go to your GP after your consultation, we process and send it within 48 hours.

What if it turns out I need therapy rather than psychiatry?

Then that’s what we’ll arrange. The triage call exists to work out the right starting point, and internal referrals happen within 24 hours either way.

Is psychiatry covered by Vitality or WPA?

It can be, depending on your plan. If your policy includes psychiatry, your assessment and follow-ups may be fully covered, and we bill your insurer directly where possible so you don’t pay up front. Check your cover and authorisation requirements with your insurer, let us know during your free triage call and we’ll help you work it out.

Not sure psychiatry is what you need?

That’s exactly what the free 15-minute triage call is for. Tell us what’s going on and we’ll work out the right starting point together.
